A Seagate bevásárol, ez egybevág azzal amit már régóta mondok és szerintem lesz is még nagy felvásárlás az SSD piacon a két nagy hagyományos merevlemezgyártó által, csak tudnám hogy mi lesz a következő célpont...
Seagate (STX) is expanding its flash storage lineup - generally seen as a weakness as flash encroaches on hard drives - in a big way by acquiring LSI's PCIe server flash storage module/flash controller chip unit from new LSI parent Avago (AVGO) for $450M in cash.
Seagate, which already offers SSDs, notes the LSI unit is the #2 player in the PCIe flash market - Fusion-io (FIO +1%) is the largest - and that its offerings in the space are optimized for cloud/hyperscale deployments - Fusion-io also has a keen interest in this area. The unit's SandForce controllers have a number of SSD design wins.
Seagate expects its enterprise SSD and controller ops to produce at least $150M in revenue in FY15 (ends June '15), albeit with an op. margin headwind of $30M-$40M. Better profitability is expected in FY16.
The deal follows a string of flash storage acquisitions from archrival Western Digital: PCIe flash vendor Virident, SSD vendor sTec, and SSD caching software startup Velobit.
It appears to remove one more potential suitor for Fusion-io, long the subject of M&A speculation.

Hát nem tudom, alpavetően milyen nagy biznisznak tartottam 40-50 közt wdc, most olyannyira nem tartom kihagyhatatlannak egyiket sem, főleg nem hosszú távra. Csak a long trend miatt szimpi a korrekcióban vétel

A Seagate, WDC párost a vállalati szegmensben is kezdik szorongatni,jobb volna bármelyiknek ha kilóra megvenné a SanDisk-et...
Hát nem tudom. Olvastam ma egy semmit mondó cikket arról hogy a WDC a jobb:
De semmi értelme, mert igaz hogy most YTD-en a WDC jobban áll, meg egy éves távon is, de 5 évesen meg az STX agyonverte a WDC-t.
na ja. ezek szerint még mindig drága? Hol vegyünk már bele? :)

A Seagate a héten egy zárt körű befektetői konferenciáján jelentette be, hogy hamarosan egy minden korábbinál nagyobb egységgel bővíti merevlemez-kínálatát. A cég ugyanis tavasszal egy nem kevesebb, mint 6 terabájt kapacitású egységet tervez bemutatni.
Az új, szupernagy kapacitású merevlemezről egyelőre kevés részletet lehet tudni - így többek között az sem egyértelmű, hogy melyik szériát gazdagítja majd. Az egyetlen biztos információ, hogy vállalati felhasználásra fogja szánja a cég, illetve, hogy hat darab - értelemszerűen egyenként 1 TB kapacitású - korongot fog tartalmazni.
A Seagate 6 terabájtos merevlemeze egyébként csak a cégen belül jelenti majd a korábbi rekordok megdöntését, hiszen a WD által birtokolt Hitachi már kínál ilyen kapacitású egységeket Ultrastar sorozatában. Ugyanakkor utóbbi termék hét korongot tartalmaz és levegő helyett héliummal van megtöltve.

úgy emlékszem 50-en lenne támasz a korrekcióban. egy elemző a nus-on vesztett nagyot, ott ő azt a következtetést vonta le, hogy az agresszív dipben kell venni és a gyors korrekció végén azonnal eladni. na ja, csak legyen elég okos hozzá az ember :)
Én ismét attól tartottam hogy amilyen erővel és gyorsasággal lejött, ugyanúgy fog visszamenni és érzelmi alapon hoztam meg ezt a döntést, meglátjuk mi jön ki belőle.
Én megvárom itt is a pánik a végét, ahogy mindig teszem, akár benne vagyok akárcsak beszállni készülök a papírba. Pánikban ált. nem tudok higgadt döntést hozni, mert érzelmileg bezavar a hangulat a rv. körül.
És egyébként se érte még el a 45-öt, remélem, azt el is éri, innentől talán lassuló lecsorgással.
én még ennek ellenére nem látok vételi jelet, de mindenképp figyelem!
