Tesla Motors (NASDAQ:TSLA) trades lower after introducing the new versions of the Model S last night.
The 60D and 85D version of the Model S feature all-wheel traction, while the EV automaker says the P85D is the fastest accelerating 4-door car ever.
Early reaction: Automobile analysts have had a largely favorable reaction to the unveiling so far. The new automated driving system features from Tesla impress, particularly the forward-looking radar which can see through snow and fog. Skeptics still wonder if the Model S enhancements will drive sales higher or push the company into the mass-market segment.
TSLA -6.0% premarket to $241.68.
Nekem is ez jutott az eszembe. Majd lesz koreai utánzat is :-)
Kezdetek óta vásárolom a papírt.

Panasonic's (OTCPK:PCRFY) initial investment in Tesla Motors' battery factory will amount to "tens of billions" of yen, says Chief Executive Kazuhiro Tsuga.
Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) founder Elon Musk said in July that he expected Panasonic to contribute 30%-40% of the battery factory’s total cost, which is likely to reach $5B. Tesla will cover about half the amount.
Tsuga also announced that his company would find it desirable for rates to remain stable, and that the dollar rising as high as ¥120 would be "excessive."
Why Did Tesla's VP Of Communications Resign Yesterday?

Summary
Tesla’s VP Of Communications Simon Sproule resigned abruptly yesterday, after almost seven months on the job.
The timing is strange, given that Sproule was likely extremely well-informed about the company’s upcoming announcements and results.
From this week’s product reveal, to the quarterly results and outlook, and next year’s Model X - this is a sign that has downside potential.
"Once you go electric, you never go back." That's what we have been hearing from electric vehicle enthusiasts. As an EV enthusiast myself, I said it at some point too.
It looks like Tesla's (NASDAQ:TSLA) high-profile VP of Communications, Simon Sproule, has now proved us wrong. After only seven months on the job, he abruptly resigned in order to join Aston Martin, which is one of the few automakers that doesn't make any electric cars.
The auto industry, like so many other industries, is of course filled with people switching from one competitor to another all the time. This case, however, looks a bit puzzling.
As VP of Communications, Simon Sproule wasn't some foot soldier who had limited insight into the company's plans. He most likely saw almost all plans and results.
Most recently, Tesla announced that it will be hosting an event this Thursday evening where it will unveils some new things. Speculation is running wild as to what it may be about. Some suggestions are more optimistic and ambitious than others. The stock is up meaningfully as a result.
Put yourself in Simon Sproule's shoes. You have just joined the highest-flying automaker, in terms of free media PR. You know exactly how well the company is doing in relation to expectations -- and they are high. The quarter has just ended. The biggest event in the company's history is only days away.
And this is the moment you resign?
To me, this is a multifaceted red warning flag. Let's list the top four examples why:
The September quarter.
If you were preparing to report a strong September quarter, why not wait and cash in the chips? Is sales strong? Is demand strong? Are margins as good as expected? What about the cash flow?
The Outlook for the December quarter.
Assuming that Tesla made the September guidance of 7,800 cars, it would have to deliver another 13,164 cars in the fourth quarter in order to make the 35,000 full year guidance. If this ramp in quarterly deliveries from 7,800 to 13,164 wasn't somehow in doubt, why leave now?
Model X being on time -- or not.
After two delays -- first deliveries in 2013, then 2014, now 2015 -- expectations are now a lot higher for the company's valuation than it was in 2012 or early 2013. Any more delays may not be so benign to the stock price as it was then.
The final Model X body has not been seen tested in the wild. This final testing period tends to take at least approximately one year for a new car body, before production can scale up materially.
If something is discovered in this final year of testing, it could take months to fix, causing further delays. Of course, perhaps no material issue is discovered and then everything will be fine. Look at many of the sell-side financial models for Tesla and see how many they expect to be delivered in 2015, including already by the third quarter.
If everything looks dandy and the Model X will likely ship on time, why leave the company now? Why not wait until 2015 and rake it in?
The highly hyped "D" Announcement This Week.
The lowest of near-term hanging fruit is what Tesla will announce on Thursday. Surely if you thought this would exceed the market's expectations, you could wait just another few days, couldn't you? Not resign just before.
Of course all of this could be pure coincidence, or some completely different reason. Perhaps Tesla is just fine on all of these accounts. Perhaps the high expectations will be met or exceeded on all of these fronts.
However, this is the kind of thing where one might have to say, some time in the coming days, weeks, months or year that "Wow, that was such an obvious sign."

Tesla to unveil "D" and something else Oct. 9 • 2:10 AM
Yoel Minkoff, SA News Editor
"About time to unveil the D and something else," tweets Tesla's (NASDAQ:TSLA) Elon Musk with an accompanying photo displaying an Oct. 9 date.
Just what either of those entail is still unknown, although Musk has previously suggested that the third generation of Teslas would involve both the long-awaited "budget" sedan and an SUV smaller than the Model X.
