BERLIN -(Dow Jones)- German Chancellor Angela Merkel lashed out at speculators Thursday, in particular the "perfidy" of investors who have contributed to Greece's debt woes.

"Speculators are our adversaries," Merkel said at a Berlin forum on the future of the European Union. "Speculating against governments' debts is certainly a perfidy."
